Konstantin Grcic opened the Extrusions collection with the Table B, in 2009. Grcic has been inspired by classic BD pieces, such as the Hypóstila shelf unit (in production since 1979), in developing a tabletop of extruded aluminium with a minimal profile and for lengths of up to 500 cm.
The Table B can reach up to five metres using a simple profile of extruded aluminium. Its apparent simplicity covers a complex technical development where important engineers have participated. The result is a piece of excelling craftsmanship, carrying the German designers character.
