LIGHTING

Taraxacum

Designer: Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Make a wish! Named after the humble dandelion plant, the Taraxacum pendant light, designed in 1960, astonishes a gorgeously diffused blooming light. The white powder-coated internal steel structure is sprayed with a unique cocoon resin to create its stunning diffuser, finished with a transparent spray for protection.Inspiration behind the design: The Castiglioni brothers were known for their ability to make us look differently at the world around us. Taraxacum is another example of their deft skill. Here, the dandelion-a common garden weed-is recreated as a thing of true beauty. As functional as it is gorgeous, the Taraxacum will change how we look at this humble plant.
