KK 44860 Side Table

Designer: Kaare Klint

Kaare Klint’s KK44860 Side Table is a minimalist design with clean, straight lines and modest elegance. Designed in 1932 and displayed for the first time at the Copenhagen Cabinet Maker’s Guild Furniture Exhibition in 1933, the square table displays Klint’s mathematical approach to design. A true visionary, Klint sought to constantly improve on existing designs as a way of adapting to ever-changing lifestyles. Paving the way as The Father of Danish Modern, his approach to furniture design would go on to influence the next generation of designers, including Hans J. Wegner and Børge Mogensen. With a focus on ergonomics and functionality, the KK44860 Side Table is a simple design, displaying traditional craft techniques and highlighting the unique qualities and the beauty of wood.
